🧀 Homemade Mozzarella Breadsticks

Golden, cheesy, and utterly irresistible—these homemade breadsticks are crispy on the outside, soft inside, and oozing with melted mozzarella.

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for brushing)

  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt (or milk)

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheese sticks cut into strips)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for topping)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Add olive oil and yogurt, then mix until a soft dough forms.

  • Knead briefly until smooth. Let rest for 5–10 minutes.

Step 2: Shape and Fill

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about ½ cm thick).

  • Cut into strips, place mozzarella in the center, and fold the dough over to seal.

  • Pinch edges and twist slightly if desired.

Step 3: Bake

  • Place breadsticks on the tray. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder, parsley, and Parmesan if using.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Step 4: Serve

  • Serve warm with marinara sauce, garlic dip, or on their own!

Tips:

  • Use cheese sticks for easy stuffing and less mess.

  • Add chili flakes for a spicy twist.

  • Great for lunchboxes, party snacks, or side dishes.
